I think Delray Beach is an adorable little beach town and right now they have hotel specials and 2-4-1 specials on attractions which can help you plan a cheap beach vacation.

Go to Clearwater Beach, great sand, rated in top 10 beaches in America.
For inexpensive go to Indialantic, near Vero. Budget motels, nice beach.

The panhandle coast, up in Pensacola and Panama City is generally the most affordable area of the state in terms of lodging costs. Avoid Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers and the Venice / Marco Island area … these are generally expensive areas in terms of the average hotel room cost.
